Schedule Details

Day 1: Cusco – Machu Picchu

 

The tour begins with pick-up from your hotel, followed by a trip to the Ollantaytambo train station. Along the way, you'll see the region's abundant flora and fauna, as well as the beautiful Sacred Valley of the Incas. Upon arrival in Ollantaytambo, we'll board the train to Aguas Calientes, a journey of approximately 1 hour and 50 minutes. During this time, you'll enjoy beautiful scenery and panoramic views until you reach the town.

Our guide will be waiting for you at the Aguas Calientes train station to take you to the bus terminal, where we will board the bus that will take us to the Archaeological Sanctuary of Machu Picchu. The bus ride lasts approximately 25 minutes and will take you along winding roads that will allow you to enjoy panoramic views of the lush surrounding mountains, finally arriving at the citadel of Machu Picchu. You will be amazed by this monument, considered one of the 7 Wonders of the Modern World. Our tourism professional will immediately begin the tour, connecting you with the sacredness of this Archaeological Wonder, so that you can better understand the history, the role of the engineers, and the architecture of the Inca City of Machu Picchu.

After the tour of Machu Picchu, you will board the bus back to the town of Aguas Calientes. Once in Aguas Calientes, you will have free time to have lunch. At the appropriate time, you must go to the train station to return to the Ollantaytambo station. Once in Ollantaytambo, you will board the CuscoPeru.com transportation service for your return to the city of Cusco and your hotel, thus concluding the wonderful experience of visiting Machu Picchu in one day.
